New On Netflix: January

As the holidays have come and gone, and you’ve said goodbye to another year’s worth of family holiday dinners, weekend expeditions to find the perfect Christmas tree, marathon shopping excursions, ugly Christmas sweater parties, and wearisome road trips to visit extended family.  If you’re left wondering how to fill up all your new-found time or how to put off that inevitable school project, the answer is simple – throw on your favorite sweatpants, curl up on your couch, and get your binge on.  Here are a few highlights from what’s new on Netflix in January 2017.

The Superman Movies

Clark Kent may very well be any budding high school journalist’s favorite news reporter.  But really, who doesn’t love a geeky undercover superhero?  Watch this shy journalist transform into the invincible Superman, where he saves the world while fighting for truth, justice, and the American way, not without a bit of Hollywood romance thrown in for good measure.  Will Superman be able to foil the evil plots against humanity? Watch your favorite high-flying hero, Christopher Reeve, in this original four movie series to find out.

E.T. the Extra Terrestrial

This heartwarming plotline, circa 1982, is enough to give anyone a dash of extraterrestrial nostalgia of yesteryear.  After being left behind on Earth by his own people, E.T. is found by ten-year old Elliot and, together with Elliot’s siblings, form a close bond.  Will E.T. make it back to his home planet and people before the government catches him?

Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass

In case you can’t get enough of the Disney movies that first arrived to Netflix in September 2016, here’s another Disney movie for you to watch.  Picking up where the story of Alice in Wonderland left off, Alice again finds herself amidst a magical adventure, this time challenged with the task of saving the Mad Hatter’s family.  Not without a bit of time travel and challenge along the way, will Alice be able to rescue her friends while saving Underland?
